About our butler and pass-around service

Butler service brings drinks to your guests rather than asking them to queue. Our professional butlers and freelance waiters in Delhi carry trays of welcome drinks, signature cocktails, mocktails and water through the venue, refresh glasses at tables and clear empties discreetly. It suits receptions, formal dinners, cocktail evenings and corporate events, especially where guests are seated or the venue is spread out.

Butlers work in coordination with the bar team, so the drinks on their trays are fresh and the pace matches the evening. They are briefed on the menu, your VIP guests and any dietary notes before service.

When butler service makes the biggest difference
  • Welcome drinks: guests receive a drink within moments of arriving, instead of heading straight to a bar.
  • Seated events: receptions and dinners where guests are at tables and should not have to leave them.
  • Large or spread-out venues: lawns, multi-level venues and halls where the bar is far from some guests.
  • VIP and elder guests: a quiet, attentive service that ensures no one is overlooked.
  • Formal moments: toasts, speeches and award announcements when everyone needs a glass at once.
How many butlers do you need?

As a typical planning guide, one butler per 25 to 40 guests works for tray service during a cocktail hour, and one per two or three tables for a seated dinner. If the event includes a toast where every guest needs a glass at the same moment, we add staff for that window.

How butlers and the bar work together

The bar captain sets a rhythm: trays go out fully loaded, return for a refill and go out again, so drinks on trays are always fresh. Butlers report back on what guests are enjoying, which helps the bar prepare ahead. Near the end of service, they shift to clearing glassware, which keeps tables tidy and helps the bar close on time.

Freelance waiters and service staff

Beyond drinks, we can provide freelance waiters for food service, water and soft-drink service, and table clearing, coordinated with your caterer. This is useful for house parties and smaller venues where the caterer does not provide service staff.

Responsible service on the floor

Butlers carrying alcoholic drinks follow the same responsible-service practice as the bar: drinks are offered, not pushed, mocktails and water are always on the tray, and service is withheld where a guest has clearly had enough or appears to be under the legal drinking age.

Pricing

Butler service is included where agreed in the Luxury package and can be added to any package. Every event is quoted to your guest count, menu and venue. Ask for a free, itemised quote.

Responsible service and licensing

State excise laws govern serving, transporting and storing alcohol, and rules differ between states and venues. Often the venue or a licensed caterer supplies and serves alcohol; your quotation will state clearly who supplies beverages. We guide you on the permissions to check, and we serve only where it is permitted, to guests of legal drinking age.

Questions

Butler and Pass-Around Service: questions

See all questions

How many butlers do I need for my event?
As a guide, one butler per 25 to 40 guests for a cocktail hour, and one per two or three tables for a seated dinner. A toast or speech where every guest needs a glass at once may need extra staff for that moment. We recommend exact numbers in your quote.
Can butlers serve food as well as drinks?
Yes, in coordination with your caterer. We can provide freelance waiters for canapés, table service and clearing, alongside drink service, so guests are looked after consistently.
Do butlers carry mocktails and water too?
Always. Every tray includes non-alcoholic options and water, so every guest can take a drink, and service follows responsible practice throughout the evening.
What do the butlers wear?
A smart, coordinated uniform by default. For weddings and themed events we can match a colour palette or dress code so the service team blends with your decor.
