Planning guide
Why book us for your engagements and cocktail night
An engagement is often the first big evening the two families spend together, and the cocktail night is where friends finally get to celebrate the couple properly. Both deserve a bar that feels elegant, welcoming and personal, without anyone in the family having to manage it.
Our engagement and cocktail night bar service in Delhi brings a styled bar, a short signature menu, welcome drinks for arriving guests and a team that serves every generation with the same care. Elders get a perfectly made mocktail, friends get the cocktail they came for, and the couple gets a signature drink with their story on the menu.
We plan the bar around the evening's programme, from the ring ceremony and speeches to dinner and dancing, so the right drink is in every hand at the right moment.
A typical engagement or cocktail night setup
| Guests | Bar | Staff | Popular additions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 100 | Styled main bar | 2 to 3 bartenders | Signature cocktail and mocktail |
| 100 to 250 | Main bar and mocktail counter | 4 to 5 bartenders, barback, captain | Welcome drinks, LED bar |
| 250 and above | Two bars and a mocktail counter | 6 or more bartenders, butlers | Champagne tower, dry ice toast |
The menu
Cocktail nights reward a confident, short menu:
- Two signature drinks, often one for each partner, with their names and a line of story on the menu card.
- Matching mocktails in the same colours, so every guest can toast the couple.
- Two or three classics for guests who prefer the familiar.
- A welcome drink served the moment guests arrive.
Setting the scene
The bar is often the backdrop for photographs, so styling matters. An LED or luxury bar glows beautifully at an evening event; a themed bar can echo the decor; a monogram or menu board adds a personal touch. Butler service during the ring ceremony and speeches keeps guests in their seats with a glass in hand.
The toast
Plan the toast with the bar: a champagne tower poured by the couple, trays of sparkling drinks and mocktails timed for the speeches, or a smoky dry ice presentation of the signature drink. A few minutes of planning makes it the moment everyone photographs.
Planning timeline
Four to eight weeks before
- Fix the venue, guest count and the evening's programme.
- Ask the venue about outside bar staff, alcohol rules, permits and closing times.
- Book the bar, especially if the date falls in the wedding season.
Two to four weeks before
- Choose signature drinks and their names; approve menu cards and signage.
- Agree bar placement, styling and power with your decorator and venue.
- Plan the toast: tower, trays or a dry ice presentation.
One week before
- Confirm final numbers and how many guests drink alcohol.
- Receive your shopping list and arrange beverages as local rules allow.
Quantities
A common starting point is about two drinks per guest in the first hour and one per guest for each hour after, adjusted for the crowd. Engagement evenings with many family elders tend to see higher mocktail demand, while cocktail nights with mostly friends see more cocktails. For a toast, plan one glass per guest, served from a tower and trays at the same time.
Licensing and venue questions
Ask your venue whether outside alcohol and bar staff are allowed, whether a temporary event permit is needed and who applies, what time the bar must close, and whether dry ice, open flame or glassware are restricted. Check that your date is not a dry day in your state. A full mocktail bar is a lovely alternative where alcohol is not permitted.
A sample evening timeline
| Time | What happens at the bar |
|---|---|
| Guests arrive | Welcome drink and mocktail served at the entrance or by butlers |
| Ring ceremony | Butlers serve seated guests; the main bar keeps a quiet pace |
| Toast | Sparkling drinks and mocktails reach every guest together, or the tower is poured |
| Dinner opens | Guests collect a drink to take to their table; the bar is at its busiest |
| Dancing | Signature cocktails, a flair moment or a dry ice presentation |
| Close | Last orders announced, the bar closes on time and is cleared |
Sharing this timeline with your planner and the bar captain means the right drink is in hand at each moment, without anyone in the family needing to give instructions.
Two families, one bar
Mixed-generation evenings work best with a separate mocktail counter, butlers who reach seated elders, and a menu that makes non-alcoholic drinks feel just as special as the cocktails.
Licensing and responsible service
State excise laws govern serving, transporting and storing alcohol, and rules differ between states and venues. Often the venue or a licensed caterer supplies and serves alcohol; your quotation will state clearly who supplies beverages. We guide you on the permissions to check, and we serve only where it is permitted, to guests of legal drinking age.
What our clients say
Hired The Infused Cocktail for our company's annual day. The team arrived on time, set up a beautiful bar counter and served flawlessly for 4 hours. Every colleague was impressed. Highly recommend.
The mocktail counter at my daughter's engagement party was the highlight of the evening. Fresh ingredients, creative presentations and staff who were warm and attentive. Will definitely book again.
