Planning guide

Why book us for your private partie

The best private parties feel effortless, and that usually means the host is not the one making every drink. Whether it is a house party for friends, a terrace evening, a pool party, an anniversary dinner or a bachelor or bachelorette night, a professional bartender changes the evening: drinks are better, glasses are never empty, and you actually get to talk to your guests.

Our private party bartenders in Delhi arrive with a compact bar, tools, ice, mixers and garnishes, set up neatly in your space and leave it as tidy as they found it. We suggest a short menu that suits your crowd, help you plan quantities, and keep service relaxed and discreet in your home.

Menus for private parties

For most private parties, three or four well-made drinks are plenty: a refreshing highball, a citrus sour, a crowd-pleasing classic and a proper mocktail. For poolside and summer parties, fruit-led coolers and crushed-ice drinks work best; for winter evenings, richer and spiced drinks feel right.

If your guests enjoy something hands-on, a cocktail workshop turns the bar into the evening's entertainment, which is especially popular for bachelorette parties and close-friend gatherings.

Working in your home
  • Space: a compact counter needs about a 6 by 6 foot area, including room for the bartender behind it.
  • Floors and furniture: we use mats and trays to protect surfaces, and keep the setup neat.
  • Power and water: a nearby socket for a blender or chiller and access to water for rinsing tools help but are not always essential.
  • Glassware: we bring glassware or quality disposables, so your own glasses are not at risk.
  • Cleanup: we take bar waste with us and leave the bar area tidy.
Private party planning checklist

One to three weeks before

  • Fix the guest count, the space and the hours the bar should run.
  • Book the bartender; Friday and Saturday evenings fill first.
  • Check any society, building or neighbourhood rules on timings and noise.

One week before

  • Agree the menu and receive a shopping list sized to your guests.
  • Arrange beverages through licensed retail, as your local rules allow.
  • Decide where the bar goes: close enough to the action, but not in a walkway.

On the day

  • The bartender arrives ahead of guests to set up and chill.
  • Keep a little fridge or ice-box space free for mixers and garnishes.
  • Enjoy your party; we handle the bar and clear it at the end.
Quantities for a house party

A common starting point is about two drinks per guest in the first hour and one per guest for each hour after, adjusted for your crowd. For a 4-hour house party of 30 guests where 25 drink alcohol, plan on roughly 125 alcoholic drinks, plus mocktails and plenty of water for everyone. Ice is the item hosts most often underestimate: plan about 0.5 to 1 kg per guest, more in summer and for pool parties.

Licences and responsible hosting

Rules for serving alcohol at private gatherings vary by state. Some states require a permit for parties above a certain size or at rented venues such as farmhouses, and some prohibit alcohol entirely. Check your state's rules before the party; we can guide you on what to ask. Our bartenders serve responsibly, keep water and mocktails available all evening and serve alcohol only to guests of legal drinking age.

Pool and terrace parties

Outdoors, plan shade for the bar, a level surface, unbreakable glassware near the pool and extra ice. Crushed-ice coolers, fresh fruit and mocktails are the stars of a summer pool party.

Licensing and responsible service

State excise laws govern serving, transporting and storing alcohol, and rules differ between states and venues. Often the venue or a licensed caterer supplies and serves alcohol; your quotation will state clearly who supplies beverages. We guide you on the permissions to check, and we serve only where it is permitted, to guests of legal drinking age.

Questions

Private Parties: questions

See all questions

Can I hire one bartender for a house party?
Yes. One experienced bartender with a compact counter usually serves up to about 40 to 50 guests at a house party. We bring tools, ice, mixers and garnishes, and handle setup and cleanup.
Can you work with my home bar instead of bringing a counter?
Yes. If you have a home bar in a good position, the bartender can work from it. We still bring tools, ice, mixers and garnishes so you do not need to source anything except beverages.
Do you bring glassware for house parties?
Yes, glassware or quality disposables can be included, so your own glasses are not at risk. For pool parties we recommend unbreakable options near the water.
Do you run cocktail workshops for bachelorette parties?
Yes. A cocktail or mocktail workshop is one of the most popular bachelorette and bachelor activities. Guests learn to make two or three drinks with a professional bartender and take the recipes home.
What do we need to provide?
Usually just the beverages, bought through licensed retail as your local rules allow, and a space for the bar. We provide the bartender, counter, tools, ice, mixers, garnishes and cleanup, and share a shopping list in advance.
