Planning guide

Why book us for your birthday

Birthdays are personal. A 30th with old friends, a surprise 40th, a parent's 60th with three generations in the room, or a garden party for a 50th each calls for a different bar. What they share is a host who would rather be with their guests than behind a counter mixing drinks.

Our birthday party bartenders in Delhi bring a styled bar, a menu built around the guest of honour's favourite flavours and the team to serve it. We handle the setup, the ice, the garnishes and the cleanup, so the person whose birthday it is, and whoever is hosting, can enjoy every moment.

From a single bartender at a house party of 30 to a full bar with a mocktail counter for 200 guests at a banquet hall, we size the bar to the celebration.

Personalising the menu

The easiest way to make a birthday bar feel special is to build it around the guest of honour:

  • A signature drink made from their favourite flavours, such as mango, coffee, ginger or rose, with their name on the menu.
  • A drink from their story: a cocktail inspired by a favourite city, a first job or a memorable holiday.
  • Their era: a decade-themed menu for a milestone, such as classics from the year they were born.
  • A matching mocktail so children, elders and non-drinkers share the moment.
Making the bar part of the entertainment

Birthday parties are social, and the bar can be part of the fun:

Family birthdays and children

For family birthdays with children and elders, a colourful mocktail bar keeps everyone included. We serve children's drinks in suitable glassware or disposables, keep anything alcoholic clearly separate, and serve alcohol only to guests of legal drinking age, which varies by state.

Birthday bar planning checklist

Two to four weeks before

  • Fix the guest count, venue and the hours you want the bar open.
  • Decide on the feel: relaxed house party, elegant dinner or big celebration.
  • Book the bar; weekends fill fast, especially around festivals.

One to two weeks before

  • Share the guest of honour's favourite flavours for a signature drink.
  • Confirm the bar position, power and access with your venue or building.
  • Receive a shopping list and arrange beverages as local rules allow.

On the day

  • The bartender arrives ahead of guests to set up, chill and prepare.
  • Time the toast or cake moment with the bar so drinks are ready.
  • We clear the bar and take bar waste with us at the end.
How much to plan for

A common starting point is about two drinks per guest in the first hour and one per guest for each hour after, adjusted for your crowd. For a 4-hour party of 60 guests where about 40 drink alcohol, that is roughly 200 alcoholic drinks and around 100 mocktails and soft drinks for everyone else. Plan about 0.5 to 1 kg of ice per guest, more in summer.

House party practicalities
  • Space: a compact counter needs roughly a 6 by 6 foot area including room behind it.
  • Neighbours and society rules: check timings and any restrictions in your building.
  • Glassware: we can bring glassware or quality disposables, so your own glasses stay safe.
  • Licensing: some states require a permit for serving alcohol at private parties, especially in larger gatherings or rented venues. Check your state's rules; we can guide you on what to ask.
The moment that matters

Plan one bar moment around the guest of honour: the signature drink served as they arrive, a dry ice toast with the cake, or a short flair routine. It takes a few minutes and is often the moment everyone remembers.

Licensing and responsible service

State excise laws govern serving, transporting and storing alcohol, and rules differ between states and venues. Often the venue or a licensed caterer supplies and serves alcohol; your quotation will state clearly who supplies beverages. We guide you on the permissions to check, and we serve only where it is permitted, to guests of legal drinking age.

Questions

Birthdays: questions

See all questions

Can I hire a bartender for a small birthday party at home?
Yes. For up to about 40 guests, one bartender with a compact portable counter is usually enough. We bring tools, ice, mixers and garnishes, set up before guests arrive and clear the bar afterwards.
Can you create a drink named after the birthday person?
Yes. We build a signature drink around their favourite flavours, give it their name and can print it on the menu card. A matching mocktail means every guest can share the toast.
Do you serve drinks for children at birthday parties?
Yes. A colourful mocktail menu with mild, fruit-led drinks works well for children. We keep children's drinks clearly separate from alcoholic ones and serve alcohol only to guests of legal drinking age.
How early should I book a bartender for a birthday?
Two to four weeks ahead is usually enough, though weekends around festivals and New Year fill faster. For shorter notice, call or WhatsApp us and we will check availability.
Can you add a fun element like flair or dry ice?
Yes. A short flair routine, a smoky dry ice toast or an interactive cocktail station all work well at birthdays. Dry ice and fire routines are run only with proper safety procedures and where the venue permits.
