Planning guide
Why book us for your new year's eve
New Year's Eve is the busiest night of the year for bartenders, and the one where a well-run bar matters most. Guests arrive in a celebratory mood, the evening runs late, and everything builds towards a single moment at midnight when every guest needs a glass in hand.
Our New Year party bartenders in Delhi plan the bar around that arc: welcome drinks as guests arrive, steady service through the evening, a high-energy flair or dry ice moment as the countdown nears, and a toast served to everyone at once. Whether you are hosting 30 friends at home, a society party for 300 or a venue event, we bring the team, the bar and the plan.
Because it is the peak night of the year, the best bartenders and setups are booked early. If you are planning a New Year party, talk to us as soon as your venue is fixed.
A typical New Year bar
| Party size | Setup | Staff | Popular additions |
|---|---|---|---|
| House party, up to 50 | Compact or standard mobile bar | 1 to 2 bartenders | Sparkling toast, signature drink |
| 50 to 150 guests | Main bar and mocktail point | 3 to 4 bartenders, barback | Flair set, dry ice toast |
| 150 to 400 guests | Two bars and a mocktail counter | 5 to 8 bartenders, captain | LED bar, butler toast service |
| 400 and above | Multiple bars | Dedicated bar manager | Full programme of flair and effects |
New Year bars need a little more staffing than an ordinary party of the same size, because demand peaks sharply around the countdown and guests stay later.
Building the evening
- Arrival: a welcome drink served the moment guests walk in.
- The long middle: steady service with a short, quick menu so queues never build.
- The build-up: a flair routine or dry ice presentation about half an hour before midnight.
- The countdown: trays of sparkling drinks and mocktails go out ten minutes before midnight, or a champagne tower is poured.
- After midnight: service continues at a relaxed pace until the agreed closing time.
The New Year menu
Keep it short and fast. Three or four cocktails, two mocktails, and a sparkling option for the toast. Winter evenings suit warm spice, citrus and richer drinks; a signature cocktail named for the year is always popular.
Book early: the New Year checklist
By October or early November
- Fix your venue and guest count, and book your bar service. New Year's Eve is the most requested date of the year.
- Ask your venue about outside bar staff, permits and the latest time bar service may run.
Early December
- Finalise the menu and the countdown plan: flair, dry ice, tower or trays.
- Confirm power, placement and setup time with your venue.
- Check whether your state or venue needs a temporary event permit for the night.
Mid to late December
- Confirm final numbers and receive your shopping list.
- Arrange beverages early through licensed retail or the venue, as your local rules allow; shops and suppliers are busy in the last week of December.
On the night
- The team arrives with extra time for setup, because traffic and venues are busy.
- The bar captain times the toast with your host or DJ.
How much to plan for
New Year parties run longer and guests tend to drink a little more than at an ordinary party. A common starting point is about two drinks per guest in the first hour and one per guest for each hour after, plus one sparkling drink per guest for the toast. For a 6-hour party of 100 guests where 75 drink alcohol, that is roughly 525 alcoholic drinks plus 100 toast glasses. Ice is critical on a long night: plan generously.
Licensing and timing
Many cities and states have rules on how late alcohol may be served and whether events need a special or occasional permit on New Year's Eve. Rules change from year to year, so check with your venue and your state excise department well in advance. We serve only where permitted and only to guests of legal drinking age, and we keep water and mocktails flowing all night.
Getting guests home safely
Encourage designated drivers or arrange cabs, keep mocktails and water visible on the bar, and wind service down gently towards the end of the night. A responsible bar is part of a good party.
Licensing and responsible service
State excise laws govern serving, transporting and storing alcohol, and rules differ between states and venues. Often the venue or a licensed caterer supplies and serves alcohol; your quotation will state clearly who supplies beverages. We guide you on the permissions to check, and we serve only where it is permitted, to guests of legal drinking age.
